8 Things I Did This Week Instead of Scrolling
& I wanted you to be the first to see our new Get Too Attached crewnecks!
Happy Friday, friend!
Normally these bonus emails are exclusive to paying subscribers, but today I made an exception. If you want to support my work as a writer and creator and receive bonus content, consider becoming a paid subscriber.
This week I’m really proud of myself for spending more than 17 (!!!) intentional hours detached from my phone doing things that matter a lot more to me than scrolling social media.
What all did I do? I’m glad you asked ;)
Baked these Cinnamon Raisin Protein Balls for myself and a friend who just had a baby. They are delicious and super easy to make!
Cleaned out our medicine cabinet. I got rid of expired meds and arranged everything so that we can easily access what we need and stop buying bottles of Tylenol when we already have four.
E and I made these pineapple steak tacos and brought them to the park for a picnic dinner while Shia ran wild on the playground. I am a big fan of two-year-old Shia!
Attended multiple yoga classes. Our apartment is a 2 minute walk from the studio, which makes going convenient.
Launched the new Get Too Attached Crewnecks!!!!!! I’m beyond excited to have these back in the shop. Preorders are now through May 12, hurry!
Organized our fridge using these containers. Hoping it helps us eat up all of our produce before it goes bad!
Read three books: Bird Uncaged (a powerful memoir about surviving incarceration), Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow (the novel everyone is talking about), and Stuff I’d Only Tell God (comes out next month, I got early access since we’re having the author on A Longer Table Podcast). I’m not finished with any of them, but I made significant progress & am really enjoying reading again :)
Got more sleep. I was in bed by 8:30pm on Wednesday night and woke up feeling AMAZING yesterday so I need to do that more often!
The hours I’m detached from my phone are easily tracked thanks to Aro! I was able to do so much that matters to me and brings joy to my life instead of wasting time scrolling or allowing the noise from others dictate where and how I spent my time.
Having the Aro app for tracking & box for storing is truly SO motivating. It’s helping E and I both match our actions to our intentions. If you’re interested in trying it for yourself, visit goaro.com and use code MANDA for one month free!
I feel SO much better and I’m thankful beyond measure. January-April were dark months with pregnancy sickness and other viruses that hit our home, but finally the sun is shining again! I’m reminded that the hard days don’t last forever even when they feel unending for a while.
How are YOU doing? Are you in a sunny or gloomy season? How can I pray for you? I genuinely want to know, so leave a comment or hit the reply button. I always love hearing from you and making this a conversation.
Love & a Cinnamon Raisin Protein bite,
Manda
