Monday’s became my favorite day of the week when we found our dream daycare for Shia. Perhaps a good mother wouldn’t think this way. Or at least a smart one would never admit it to the world.
After spending all weekend with him, I look forward to a break; the chance to write and participate in meaningful conversations without a toddler begging for snacks at my hip. (IYKYK.)
I’ll spare you a compelling argument that I’m not only a happier human, but a better* mom when I work 40-ish hours and he’s with his peers and trusted caretakers.
*by the standards of present, patient, playful, etc.
Anyway, this is reason enough for me to celebrate that it’s Monday. Do you have an affection for this particular day of the week as well? What’s behind it?
